08 Sep STARCREST PLANT DEBRIS CLEAN-UP SAT., SEPT. 11–VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Volunteers are needed to clean up plant debris and several small trees branches from Starcrest Drive, starting at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 11. We need a couple of pickup trucks for hauling 2 or 3 truckloads of plant debris. Also needed: 2 or 3 wheel-barrels, shovels, rakes, trowels, and a Weedwacker. If you can help out in this community project, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. The plan is to spend 3 hours cleaning up the area.
Once the debris is gone, it will be replaced with leftover ‘manufactured sand’. I have plants to replace those eaten by the deer or that succumbed to summer heat. The delosperma ‘ice plant’ and the variegated irises have done well this year. If anyone has extra variegated irises to donate, this would be a good time to transplant them. I have 34 delosperma to plant now and hopefully 72 more later this fall (if my cuttings work out).
