Donna Burns

I grew up on the coast of Massachusetts, but have spent most of my adult life in the Midwest. Moving from the flatlands in 1998, it was easy to decide where we wanted to live in Boise – the foothills. And there was only one foothill for us, the Mesa with its mature trees, spectacular views, and country feel.

Not knowing what to leave behind in Missouri, we found ourselves with many items we didn’t need. In the spring of 1999, I organized a community wide yard sale with 14 families. This has become a city-wide, anticipated annual event every September with 50-70 Mesa families participating.

I hold a Bachelors Degree in Human Resources and a Masters Degree in Psychology. I spent 7 years with the Idaho State Department of Transportation as an Organizational Development Specialist. In the fall of 2006, I became the Idaho Director for Weight Watchers of Salt Lake City, Inc. I volunteer at the Idaho Elks Rehab hospital. I have three children and seven grand children living in Michigan and eastern Idaho.

My goal as president of the MNA is to education and connect the population of the Mesa so that our beautiful, peaceful, and safe neighborhood remains just that in spite of the growth we are experiencing.
