Warm Springs Mesa Fire Wise Report – Jan. 2014-continued

……..These efforts, in addition to the continuing expansion of the infrastructure by the developer, including the extension of E. Windsong Dr. to the very boarder of Boulder Heights I, results in a substantial fire break for the Mesa subdivision (located within the Wild Land Urban Interface (WUI) Zone 1).

I am pleased to report that the Warm Springs Mesa Neighborhood Association as a

member of the SW Idaho RC&D Council has agreed to serve as the sponsor for the Wildhorse Subdivision, located immediately to the North of the us on the Boise Front, as that community begins its own Fuel Break Project, again, with the BLM serving as technical support, and the SW Idaho RC&D as the fiscal agent (coordinated by Sunset Fire District formed in 2011).

In the words of Lance Okeson, Boise District BLM, the linkage of the Warm Springs Mesa Fire Wise efforts with the plans of the Wildhorse community, establishes the first continuous fire break sector from North to South through the Boise Front !

There are so many individuals to thank for their volunteer efforts and inputs which have paid high dividends for this community, but a special shout out goes to Dan Arnhols, for all his valued contributions.

As we move into 2014,  new initiatives will be established for our Fire Wise tasks and we look forward to adding even more Mesa neighbors on to our team.
